The company has expertise in the design and production of functional materials and offers an innovative approach based on a proprietary process to prepare hybrid nanomaterials. Beside our standard products, our expertise and know-how allows to design polymers and nanomaterials for specific needs.
1) Products : Reactive nanomaterials
The company has developed a new process for the preparation of innovative nanomaterials. This process allows for the preparation of new classes of nanomaterials polymers ("core-shell" polymers) and hybrid materials (inorganic core and organic shell).
The company offers a range of standard products which combine in a same product an inorganic core (nano silica) and a reactive polymer shell. These products comprise acrylate, methacrylate and epoxy functional nanomaterials. A speciality product has been developed as well for fire-retardant properties.
Advantages : "All in one" products providing several propoerties at the same time especially for adhesives formulation applications; high performance formulation with reduced number of components.
Applications: The spectrum of applications concerns more generally the different markets mentioned above
2) Technical Coatings :
The company has designed thermally and UV Curable coatings which are very easy to implement. They are liquid formulations which produce coatings (thin films) after deposition with usual techniques such as spin-coating, dip-coatings and spraying. Standard formulated coatings enable to trigger properties such as anti-reflective, abrasion resistance, anti-fouling behaviour, photochromic properties...
These coatings are dedicated to optics, microelectronics, technical textiles, luxury items, consumer goods (touch screens...).
Innovative Aspects:
1) Product developments: Polymer and hybrid materials
Besides its own standard nanomaterials, our process allows to develop tailor-made polymers and nanomaterials for specific needs. Due to their particular design, these materials can combine diverse kinds of properties :
- low viscosity,
- Optical transparency
- fire-retardancy,
- compromise between flexibility and hardness,
- anti-abrasion,
- high dispersibility,
- hydrophobicity&
Innovative aspects :
Our polymers have unique architectures and core-shell structures exhibiting low viscosity compared to linear polymers of analogous structure and reactive exterior shell. Compared to previous commercial inorganic nanomaterials (metal oxides nanopowders...), the nanomaterials produced by our company disperse easily in organic medium (resins, thermoplastics...). This is one of the key features for the applications of nanomaterials. Additionally, our process permits large scale production of nano-materials composed of highly resilient inorganic and polymer organic moieties. - Low viscosity
- A very reactive shell which is determining to control the final properties of the materials
- A large panel of functional groups and properties (patented process); the company will manufacture acrylic and epoxy functionalised materials and has resources to offer other functional materials and technological solutions allying high performance without neglecting economical aspects for various applications.
- Hybrid nanomaterials displaying excellent chemical, thermal and mechanical resistance
- Process implemented at laboratory pilot - industrial scale.
Customised nanomaterials can be developed for specific needs with short/mid term developments.
2) Coatings developments:
From our know-how in the field of coatings, we adapt our standard coatings to a large number of industrial subjects. Every project is unique and requires specific resources. However, the versatility of our coatings technologies makes possible to develop coating gathering, for instance, anti-reflective, easy-to-clean and hard coat properties, photochromic and abrasion resistance... for substrates such as plastics (PC, PMMA, PET...), glass, steels, metals...
