Optical sensor for Oximeters based on NIRS (08 IT 55Y2 0INT)
An Italian SME has developed a new kind of optical sensor for Oximeters based on NIRS, Near infrared spectroscopy technology. This technique is a non-invasive optical technology that finds many applications in medicine (Impedance Cardioghraphy in order to measure physiological paramet)and can detect the non-invasive measurement of oxy-and deoxy-hemoglobin concentration in tissues, total blood volume and oxygen saturation. The company is looking for License Agreement and commercial agreement.
Country: Italy Type: OFFER Date: 28.07.2010
The Oximeters based on NIRS with the frequency-domain approach utilizes near infrared light in the wavelength range 690-850 nm, which is delivered to the tissue by fiber optics sensors, then fibber optics bundles collect the optical signal that traversed through the body and give informations about the emodinamic parameters. The sensor can be used in different fields: Electronics, NIRS, Microscopy, Impedance Cardiometry, in terms of New Products, Electronics, Processing data and mathematical models, Rapid prototype technique.

Innovative Aspects:
The SIC sensors increase the S/N ratio versus the traditional probes and they are smaller than the traditional probes.
The main advantage offered is the size and the dimension of the instruments and the possibility to dectect absolute values of the hemodinamics parameters compare to other NIRS techniques that are sensitive only to changes in relative oxy and deoxy-hemoglobin concentration.
