A French company specialized in the development of fast cameras and software dedicated to motion analysis domain has developed a high speed camera for the capture of fast images and movements. This system, is a compact embedded system for motion analysis. The EyeCam system can detect marker placed on the body and calculate their position with high accuracy.
The device uses a fast CMOS sensor. It allows to do acquisitions up to 250fps with a 640x480 picture size(VGA). The other characteristics of this sensor are :

Several systems could be plugged on the same PC, even a laptop, to obtain from 2 to 6 separated views of the same scene at 250 frames per second. A 3D recontruction of the movement is possible with this very portable multi-camera system. Thanks to the embedded picture compression inside the system, 6 cameras can be plugged at the same time on a single PC. Movement sofware allows to do a 3 dimensions reconstruction with all the fast video streams recorded with the EyeCam system. The company also develops its own software in order to manipulate and analyze the video clips obtained with the camera.
