Magnetic application pointer with a gauge-holder. (10 IT 52T2 3ICI)
An Italian private inventor developed an accurate pointer to achieve the zero defect point thanks to the power of a magnet applied on it. Using the fitting gauge-holder extension, available in different sizes, it is possible to realize the zero defect piece even in deep points and in the inner sides of the part in process.Currently, the Italian patent is exclusively for Italy but the inventor is willing to extend it to all the Europe. The inventor seeks industrial partners for licence agreements.

The magnetic application pointer and the gauge-holder extension are exclusively used in the mechanical field: their function is that of obtaining the zero defect piece, a compulsory task before doing any operation on the piece under processing on the same machine tool. To obtain the zero defect piece in mechanic means to reset the X and Y axis of a machine tool, for example a milling, in relation to the specific piece under process on the machine tool itself. Since this pointer makes use of a magnet, it can be utilized only on magnetic metals with plane surfaces; it is not possible to use it on round surfaces.
Such a pointer can be used only on machine tools both of old generation and on numeric control machine tools of new type, without any process of adaptation, as it is not fixed on the machine tools, but directly onto the piece under process by means of a magnet.
A specific description of how it works, can be found on the enclosures.
Innovative Aspects:
This pointer permits to obtain the zero defect piece having 0.005mm as the highest degree of possible failure, while other pointers allow a possible failure of 0.02mm.
Such an accurate zero defect piece is not always required, but when it is required in those industries which processes precise mechanical pieces, it is necessary to comply with a very small error tolerance.
