Spectroscopic characterization of micro-nano particles and frozen gases (10 IT 53V2 3HQC)
Italian astrophysical research centre developed advanced apparatus to characterize materials and devices "in situ" by spectroscopic techniques (UV-Vis-IR spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and photoluminescence). It can be performed in UHV and at temperatures between 12 and 300 K. Targets can be implanted with ions at energies up to 200 keV/ionization. Technical cooperation partnership is sought.

UV-Vis-IR spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and photoluminescence of micro-structured materials (dust grains, thin films, frozen gases) can be performed in UHV and at temperatures between 12 and 300 K. Targets can be implanted with ions at energies up to 200 keV/ionization. This offers an unique opportunity to characterize materials and devices "in situ" while at the same time processing with energetic ions and/or UV light.
We have developed an experimental apparatus that allows to characterize microstructured samples in an UHV chamber (better than 10-9 mbar) and at temperature ranging from 10 K up to 300 K.
Targets can be implanted with ions at energies up to 200 keV/ionization and/or Lyman alpha UV photons.
This offers the unique opportunity to characterize materials and devices "in situ" while at the same time processing with energetic ions and/or UV light.
Characterization can be done by spectroscopic techniques (UV-Vis-IR spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and photoluminescence).
We offer our laboratory for testing of materials and are also interested in standardize the apparatus in view of possible industrial utilization.
Innovative Aspects:
To optimize a procedure aiming at preparing specific devices it is important to develop technique for "in situ" analysis. In the present offer we offer a unique opportunity for the spectroscopic characterization of materials, also micro structured and frozen gases.
Materials and devices can be characterized through their spectroscopic (0.2-25 micrometers) characteristics (transmittane and reflectance of the light), Raman spectroscopy (particularly sensitive to the structure of the target) and photoluminescence.
