A Turkish engineering company developed a solution for toxic and damaging effects of nano-sized particles used in sun screens, moisturizer creams and baby powders.In these kind of products,ZnO(Zinc Oxide),TiO2(Titanium oxide) are used by being a good absorber for UV(ultraviolet) rays and as anti-irritant structures, however penetrating to blood through skin may have damaging effects to human health.The company is looking for technical cooperation or commercial agreement with technical assistance

At this project ZnO nano powder is used. Nano sized ZnO is a good absorber for UV rays, being an anti-irritant structure is usable in sunscreens, moisturizer cream, baby powders etc. Nano size particles have lots of amazing results but also have several problems. One of the problems of using nano scale materials is the agglomeration problem. In nano scale, high surface energy cause the uncontrolled agglomeration of nano sized particles. Therefore the particle cannot show the advantages gained by the nano size offers. The second problem of using nano sized materials is the risk of nano materials penetration to the human body through the skin. Nano scale structures can go through the hair follicles or some other ways in to the skin and even to the blood cells. This can cause drastic health problems such as cancer and therefore usage of nano technology on human bodies without taking necessary precautions can lead to inacceptable results.
The company has a solution for this problem by producing nano scale materials which cannot enter to human body owing to its size and shape. Further investigations of this solution on several applications will make it available for public usage.
