Scrap Tire Pyrolysis System (10 TR 98OF 3I1K)
A Turkish consultancy and engineering firm is looking for technology developers/suppliers who can provide a pyrolysis system designed for waste tire pyrolysis. The offered system should enable to produce liquid fuel and activated carbon. The firm is open to "joint further development of a technology" or "adaptation of an existing technology to its specific needs".
Country: Turkey Type: REQUEST Date: 28.07.2010
In Turkey, thousand tons of scrap tires are disposed into landfills or deposit areas every year. However scrap tires are known to be resources used for producing valuable materials and energy including petrochemicals, synthetic polymers, liquid fuel and activated carbon in more developed countries. Owing to these, private sector investors are becoming aware of the fact that used tires can commercially be converted into value added products in Turkey.

A Turkish consultancy and engineering firm active in the construction sector is planning to invest in waste tire recycling. It is planned to establish an integrated recycling facility with energy production line. The recycling/energy production system will consist of several steps including pyrolysis. Waste tire pyrolysis involves the thermal degradation in the absence of oxygen. The benefit of this application is the conversion of waste tires into value-added products such as olefins, chemicals, liquid fuel and activated carbon.

The Company is looking for technology developers/suppliers who can provide a pyrolysis system designed for waste tire pyrolysis. The offered system should enable to produce liquid fuel and activated carbon. The firm is open to "joint further development of a technology" or "adaptation of an existing technology to its specific needs".

Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:
The planned tire recycling system will involve preprocessing stages including steel removal and shredding. Once the tires are shredded and approximately 90 95 % of the steel is removed they will be ready to be processed through pyrolysis reactor.

The pyrolysis system should enable to produce liquid fuel and activated carbon. The system can be of any type incuding:

- Microwave pyrolysis
- Ultrasonic devulcanization:
- Supercritical fluid depolymerization
- Use of special catalysts.
