Efficient Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (10 US 87GA 3IF3)
A US inventor created a small residential/commercial vertical axis wind turbine system that will reduce energy dependence on fossil fuel systems. The system uses specially designed airfoils and an innovative continuous adjustment system that allows it to rotate several times faster than the prevailing wind turbines. A prototype has been built and are seeking potential partners for additional R&D, licensing, and commercialization activities including manufacturing and distribution.

The vertical axis wind turbine system has a unique adjustable airfoils that maximize the capture of wind energy as a silent, clean, efficient, affordable, and expandable independent energy conversion and storage system.
The technology offers great potential to generate and store clean energy, and generates more electricity than ordinary wind turbine systems. The system captures and stores wind energy that can later be used as needed, sold through the power grid, or to operate independent/remote energy applications, and is safer and less costly then energy created by conventional wind turbine fields. It is versitile and can be utilized by individual home owners, farmers, commercial business, or communities or municipalities with less loss of energy.
Innovative Aspects:
The vertical axis wind turbine system is unique in that it is silent, aesthetically pleasing, portable, energy efficient, environmentally friendly, and does not interfere with natural ecosystems. The system is expandable and stackable to meet increasing needs, but as a ground based system is more affordable to the average consumer.
Initial testing of the prototype confirms that the airfoil speed of the vertical axis wind turbine system operates up to seven times the velocity of wind. By mounting the blades vertically rather than horizontally, the entire surface area of the airfoil blade is positioned to increase the power of the turbine.
