Modular solar collector (09 IT 54V7 3E2V)
An Italian manufacturing company, operating in the field of alternative energy, has produced solar thermal collectors: a modular panel suitable to be installed directly on roofs substituting tiles. The modular solar collector allows realising continuous rainproof surface and, being integrated in roofs, it grants good aesthetical results. The company is looking for industrial partners interested in manufacturing and/or commercialisation of the product in their own country.

The innovative solar collector is mainly made of a profile (anodised extruded aluminium) with a special "U" shaped design, with the following features:
1. It can receive on the upper position a transparent cover, joined with a gasket profile
2. It contains the insulating material and the absorber
3. It is allowed the mechanical joining of two consecutive profiles, to obtain a continuous rain proof surface
4. By means of special hooks it is fastened to the support on the roof
5. It is closed on both extremities with plastic covers that includes insulating material
Theoretically modules can be produced in any length. In fact the module length actually consists of four different sizes: 1,5 - 2 - 2,5 - 3 metres.
After the installation of modules on the support, the hydraulic connection is carried out on the top side of the panels, by means of a special stainless steel flexible pipe, with hydraulic fittings.
Innovative Aspects:
The modular solar collector allows realising continuous rainproof surfaces, integrated in the roofs, with different dimensions, to obtain the best aesthetical results. It is possible also to install the panels vertically, or to obtain curved surfaces.
The installation, especially for great surfaces, is particularly fast and easy. It is possible to realise canopies and covering using directly the modular panels. The panels are strong and load-bearing. The single modules are compact and light, so that the collector can be transported on the installation site manually. The possibility to choose the length of modules and the surface width, gives the greatest flexibility in the design of the solar surface.
