Design technique of microsurgery for the implantation of tissue or the release of biological substances in the brain tissue (10 ES 27F3 3GL9)
An Andalusian research group (Spain) has developed some techniques of microsurgery for the implantation of tissue or biological release of substances in the brain tissue . It is aimed at companies manufacturing devices for the release of substances in the brain or institutions working in the field of neurological microsurgery. The institute seeks to transfer the patent rights through entering into license agreements.
Country: Spain
Type: OFFER
Date: 01.03.2010
The research group has developed techniques for stimulation and recording by telemetry in vivo and the mechanisms of potentiation and long-term depression (LTP and LTD) in vivo in various species.
These experimental models are likely to be used for mapping and pharmacological study of learning ability and memories of wild, transgenic and mutant mice.
Various techniques are also available for micro-injection, micro-dialysis and micro-stimulation, as well as recording techniques in vivo (unit and field records) of the brain electrical activity
The group has developed a program of analysis and representation of biopotentials by wavelet techniques as well as micro-surgical techniques for implantation of tissue, cell suspensions, micro-pumps and other substances that should be released with great accuracy within the brain tissue.
Innovative Aspects:
- Classical and instrumental conditioning in mammals.
- Facilitates tissue implantation, micro-pumps and other devices within the brain tissue.
- High domain techniques specializing in the study and introduction of substances in the brain tissue.
Degree of development:
