Drowsiness warning system / dead man function for crane and machine operators (10 NL 60AH 3HW9)
A Dutch SME, active in the development and production of operator cabins and cabin components for cranes, specific vehicles and machines all over the world, is looking for technology to detect drowsiness or fatality of operators for saver operating. The company is looking for a system that can be integrated in their cabins or fitted to the operator and, if necessary, tuned to specific aspects of the operator's task. A commercial agreement with technical assistance is preferred.

Container cranes carry big loads representing lots of value. Accidents with container cranes can cause a lot of damage to the load/container, the crane and can also injure operators and co-operators. Most of the accidents with cranes happen because of drowsiness of the operator. A system monitoring the alertness of a crane operator prevents accidents and contributes to a safer working environment. It also safes costs of damage to loads and crane. Because of easier implementation it is preferred that the operator itself is monitored, not using data from the crane.
