PS - FP7 - MOLANINA - Smart Systems Modelling Language to Integration the Nanotechnologys (10 ES 24D4 3I5P)
A Spanish research centre is preparing a proposal under the Objetive ICT 2011.3.2 Smart components and smart systems integration. The aim of this project is the creation of a new standard language that allows to unify the design of nanotechnology in one tool. Partners are sought for a consortium for the project.

The creation of a standard in every field of knowledge requires a huge effort in order to cover all the topics involved and all the relations between them. This task is mostly performed by different software and languages within all the science fields. In this case it is proposed the creation of a new modelling language that allows to unify the design of nanotechnology in one tool.
The design process of nanotechnology is a topic that remains not so much evolved. SysML is a general purpose modelling language for systems engineering applications. It comes from the UML language focused in software design. The application of this Standard to nanotechnology design will allow designers and scientists to quickly create all the necessary infrastructure for nanotechnology manipulation and manufacturing without being involved in the election of devices or software for this purpose. Moreover, it is possible to extend the capabilities of SysML by using heritage and abstraction, adding more features to the created models.
A new modelling language will be established within the scope of this project. This language will be based in an open standard that will allow to create a wide variety of nanoprocesses under a new standard that will give flexibility, easiness to create, power and extendibility. This new standard claims to be the easiest way of building nano-manipulators or nano-structures, as well as other necessary items like the software that control these devices or the specifications that will suit the requirements of every design.
The impact of this Project is expected to be very interesting for several fields, because nanotechnology is a non-evolved area, where it is very difficult, or almost impossible, to integrate most of the technologies and devices used in other areas. It is because of the limited size of such products that it is necessary to rebuild the existing tools to make possible its application in nanotechnology.
