Semantic analysis for technical texts (10 FR 36M1 3IA9)
A French lab has developed a software module allowing analysis of structure of procedural texts. The system indicates topic and goal of a procedure. Thanks to a fine analysis, it provides a final structure in output comprising tags and index. It allows automatic management of large amount of documents, elimination of redundancies and inconsistencies, updating, analysis of risk and assistance for performing complex tasks. A partner with capability to use and develop this innovation is sought.

There is actually no system being able to analyse syntactic and semantic structure of procedural texts. However, such an analysis is crucial for resolving numerous problems that users and industry usually face, e.g. concerning task management, updating and treatment of large procedure documents collections.
A French laboratory from Midi-Pyrenees has developed an innovative software module allowing an analysis of the structure of procedural texts. Thus, the system indicates the topic and the goal of the procedure. Furthermore, it gives the « how to do » thanks to a fine analysis of the text structure (instructions, conditions, precautions, etc.) providing a final structure in output comprising tags and index.
The targeted applications address for example the automatic management of large amount of procedure documents, eliminating redundancies and detecting inconsistencies, the updating (errors, omissions), the analysis of risk and the assistance for performing complex tasks (fusion or procedure set concatenation). This tool can address a large range of industrial domains and many sectors such as health, transport, agrofood and chemistry.
