ICT expertise required for integration of medical analysis software package into Picture Archiving and Communications (PACS) systems (10 GB 42O1 3I8H)
A UK based SME is seeking ICT expertise to integrate their medical imaging analysis software package into the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) used by the NHS (National Health Service).
Country: United Kingdom
Type: REQUEST
Date: 05.08.2010
A UK based SME has developed analysis software that provides quick and effective clinical diagnostic decision support for dynamic MRI scan data. This dynamic MRI data analysis technique allows a clinician to make a more reliable diagnosis in a fast, robust and repeatible manner. Two systems have been developed that focus on the individual requirements of rheumatoid arthritis and breast cancer patients. The software can work with any MRI scanner and is already on the market.
The SME is now seeking to integrate this analysis software into the PACs systems used by the National Health Service and is seeking ICT companies with expertise in PACS.
Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:
The system is a based around a processing engine for DCE time-based MRI scans. It processes the scans to recognise the tissue highlighted by the contrast agent. The processing does not depend on manual thresholding and includes high performance motion correction. The results and statistic are contained within 2D maps, which are overlayed on the image data and presented to the clinician.
The processing engine can be executed separately and the results presented by the PACS viewer along with the scan images.
The input to the engine is a DICOM time-series, with options to correctly organise the DICOM data into volumes and time points, coping with different scanners.
The output is stored in DICOM compatible format ready for use by the PACS viewer. Some user interface changes maybe be required to explore the statistical output.
