Logistic GPS platform for ground interaction (08 IT 53V2 0IMP)
Italian SME has developed satellites orbiting the pertinent hemisphere, which take the bearing of every single GPS (Global Positioning System) and recognise their coordinates in terms of latitude, longitude, altitude and speed of the unit that carries the installed GPS device. A special application detects the positioning parameters and sends them to the headquarters. The partner sought is a company operating in the fields of distribution, transport or security.

The technology has been developed by an ICT company exploiting an innovative project. The application is ready to receive the signal both from last-generation cellular telephones (Java applet compatible) and professional ICOM (Integrated Communications) radio receivers/transmitters. It is possible to localise every single unit on the ground by overlapping the signal of the intercepted units on the territorial map.
In addition to mobile units localisation, it is possible to interact with them through dedicated functions such as sending and receiving alert messages whenever a particular event occurs. For example, a control function is available to send a signal to the headquarters every time a shipping unit crosses the 300 meters border relevant to the coast.
The alert is both visual and resonant, and this function revealed to be particularly useful in the so-called "safe sea" operation.
Innovative Aspects:
The technology has been exploited in the distribution and logistic fields of all industrial sectors and security as well. Just as described for the "safe sea" operation, it's possible to find out "free zones" of territorial pertinence, even though different from the ordinary geographic delimitations. So it's possible to set-up the process the right way to receive an alert once a unit crosses the "free zones" prior established.
