Home Automation solution for remote monitoring through Mobile Phone (09 IT 54W3 3E8V)
An Italian SME developed SmartDomus project connected to Home Automation for the mass market. SmartDomus is a set of very innovative electronic devices that enable the end user to remotely control and monitor their homes or businesses, via their standard mobile phone (no Java is required). The company gets the prototype of the product and is looking for a technical and financial collaboration in order to further develop and start-up the project.

Italian company developed SmartDomus system. It is a set of electronic devices that enable the end user to remotely control and monitor their homes or businesses from anywhere in the world, via their mobile phone. The set is composed of a main unit that is installed inside the house and other units that are distributed on the house periphery. The peripheral units are distributed inside and/or around the house. The units connect the main panel both to household goods (home appliances, conditioners, heating systems, motor-driven pumps, etc.) and to other alarms and sensors such as contact sensor, break sensor, motion sensor, camera, hygrometer, thermometer, gas leakage detector etc. The main unit (Home Station) executes the task to collect the information coming from the peripheral units and to distribute the commands it receives. The system includes several peripheral units: camera, on/off device with socket for the plug of the appliance to drive, thermal meter, humidity meter, gas detector.
The product is designed for the mass market (DIY field) and will be sold as a starter kit. Given the type of market (high volume and low unit prices) the challenge is achieve a highly reliable and very economical kit.
Hence the need for a partner able to improve and industrialize the project.
